Statement of Faith
This is our belief

GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He has revealed Himself to be perfect in love, righteous in all His ways, and the Creator of all things.

1 Timothy 1:17; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 4:35,39; John 4:24; Genesis 1:1

We believe Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son and our Lord and Savior. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous works, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, intercessory ministry, and imminent (at any time) return.

Luke 1:34-35; John 1: 1-4, 14; 1 Peter 2:21-25; Titus 2:13-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Colossians 1:7,16-17

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. He convicts individuals of their sinfulness and draws them to Christ. At conversion, the believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit indwells, seals the saints for salvation, empowers, guides, and produces the fruit of Christ’s likeness in all who yield to Him.

2 Peter 1:20-21; James 1:18; John 16:7-11; Romans 8:9-11,14,16; 1 Corinthians 2:10-13; 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18; Acts 4:31; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Galatians 5:16,22-23; Titus 2:11

BIBLE

We believe the Scriptures are God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. They are living and active, trustworthy, sufficient, and without error – the supreme guide and authority to faith and life.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12

MAN

We believe that God created man in His own image, for His glory, and to have fellowship with Himself. Tempted by Satan, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God. Their disobedience brought sin and death to the human race and suffering to all creation. Everyone is born with a sinful nature and needs God’s gift of salvation.

Genesis 1:26-30; Isaiah 43:7; Romans 3:23, 5:8-12, 6:23; 1 Peter 1: 18-19

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is the gift of eternal life from God, received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot gain salvation through works, actions, or through any human means – for it is given freely by God.  In Christ, we are forgiven of our sins, reconciled to God (without condemnation), reborn by the Holy Spirit into the family of God, and made a new creation in Christ.

2 Timothy 1:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 2:21,38; Galatians 2:20; Romans 5:1,8-12; 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 1:12; Romans 6:23, 8:1

THE CHURCH

We believe the church is the living body, of which Christ is the Head, and all who believe in Him are members. The church exists to glorify God, cultivate personal growth in Christ, care for one another in Christ, and communicate Christ to the world.

Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:11-16; Romans 12:5,10; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:12,27; John 4:23-24; Psalm 100

ORDINANCES

We believe that baptism of believers by immersion beautifully symbolizes the work of Christ in an individual’s life. Remembering the sacrifice of Jesus by sharing in the Lord’s Supper demonstrates a believer’s continuing commitment to Christ. Baptism is a normative precondition to the Lord’s Supper, and they both are to be observed until Christ’s return.

Matthew 23:19; Acts 2:38,41, Romans 6:1-11; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

LAST THINGS

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent (at any time) return of Jesus Christ to the earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of all people, those who are lost to eternal condemnation, and those who are saved to eternal life.

Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 5:1-11; 1 Corinthians 15; Philippians 3:20-21; John 3:16; Revelation 20:11-15,21
